Okay, Buzznet fails at life, so I'm posting a journal

Okay, Buzznet really doesn't fail at life, but I'm frustrated. I was making a poll out of boredom, but it won't let me add photos to it. But I can still add photos to journals, so I'll just ask for your opinions here.

It's actually pretty pointless, as a journal. When it's finally working, I'll post it as a poll.

Anyways, my question was...

What 'hair phase' of Hayley's is your favorite? (Just tell me in a comment.)

A.) Red/Yellow "Ketchup and Mustard" Hair

(Seen mostly on the Australia tour)

B.) "Pressure Red"

(Seen mostly in the AWKIF time period)

C.) Auburn Hair

(Seen mostly during the 2006 Warped Tour and their following fall tour)

D.) "Riot Orange"

E.) Yellow/Blonde

(Seen mostly on the 2007 Warped Tour, when her "Riot Orange" style faded to this color)

F.) Orange-Brown (This is my personal favorite. Seen mostly in the fall of 2007)

G.) "Ginger Hair"

(Seen on the 2008 Warped Tour and The Final Riot!)

H.) "Cherry Red"

(Similar to "Pressure Red", but much more saturated. Seen first at the Grammy's, and in the TWYG video, and it's her current hair color now.)

Some things that happened today

First things first:

It came! It finally came! (I find it funny that it came on the day I wore my Paramore shirt, too.)

The sad thing is, it's not for me. It's for my friend. Aren't I a good citizen.

I've been thinking, I've really done stuff I'd like to have done for myself.... y'know, this DVD, and getting Brooks Betts' autograph. None of it was for me.

Oh, and it also came with this:

This sweet Alex DeLeon mini poster. Now, that I'm keeping. Haha.

The other item was that, my parents gave me an itunes gift card last night as a reward for all of my hard work in symphony. (see my latest video if you don't know what I'm taking about). For some reason, I got up on time today, and had 20 minutes to spare before my bus came. I went on itunes, bought a bunch of new songs AND downloaded them to my ipod, all before the bus came. I'm just that awesome.

I bought: Artist Vs. Poet EP (Artist Vs. Poet), and That's What She Said EP (The Friday Night Boys)

I didn't even preview The Friday Night Boys before I bought it, I didn't feel I had to. I've heard so much good stuff about them, that  I just bought it without hesitation. And it's so good! My favorite is That's What She Said. I love the key change. I totally wasn't expecting it, and it made me really happy when I was listening to it.

I also bough the remainder of the songs from Clarity (Jimmy Eat World) that I didn't have, and I'm enjoying those very much so.

So, I have enough money to get 2 more song downloads. Which ones should I get? Answering this question is mandatory in all comments, please! I really want an opinion, because I can't decide!

OH, and the last thing- it snowed last night. A fair amount. I woke up this morning to find the ground covered. Ugh. I hate snow so much. I basically woke up saying: "I hate my life!" Those were my exact words. But it's supposed to melt by Thanksgiving. Hahaha. I'm so pumped now.

And, I appologize, for being unable to vlog. I was so excited to do it, but the camera from school is so crappy and doesn't have sound in video recordings. I'll try to borrow my mom's camera to do one, because I really want to!

Okay, I think that's it. One day left before break!! Woohoo!

Peace, Love, and Paramore (haha Paija, my new signature),

You know you're in Wisconsin when...

Stolen from Createthejoy. This will probably be the very opposite of hers.

1. The majority of town limit signs you pass say unincorporated on them. That, or the population is usually less than 1,000

2. There is a bar on every corner. (I would like to add that it's totally legal for me to go into any of these bars and have a beer, as long as my parents are with me and they say it's okay. Totally legal.)

3. The smell of fertilizer is the smell of fresh air.

4. There is an existent "Drive Your Tractor To School Day" at your high school.

5. Winter coats, hats, mittens, etc. are either bright orange or leaf camo (A.k.a. if you're walking around in neutral or earthy colors, you're screwed shit.)

6. Whenever a fatal car accident is announced on the radio or nightly news, it is always followed by the phrase "alcohol was involved" (refer back to number 2)

7. 25 degrees with no wind is a perfect day. And 40 degrees is a heat wave.

8. You are unable to correctly use the word 'them' in a sentence. (Example: It's just one of them days...)

9. All priorities, commitments, dedications etc. are cancelled if they conflict with a Packer game. Even for those who watch it on TV.

10. Traffic is a backup of less than 10 cars at a 4 way stop. Or a few cars stuck behind a tractor. (This may or may not apply to number 4)

11. "Highways" are two lane roads.

12. Roads are named with: a formal name, a letter (sometimes a combinaton of 2 or 3 letters), and sometimes a number. (Example, I live near the corner of G and GV. But also the corner of Dickinson and Monroe)

13. Vegetarians usually enjoy the decor at restaurants, not the food. (And you wonder why I hate it here so much)

14. You put your christmas lights and holiday decorations up in late october or early november, and don't take them down until at least march. Or you could leave them on all year.

15. The dining attraction of choice is usually a sports bar, or a supper club.

15.5 Now, these sports bars are not the cool, hip ones you find occasionally in big cities. This is your local bar on the corner, where the only tv in the room is displaying none other than, football. (I suppose you can refer back to number 2 for this one as well)

November 15, 2008

Okay, here it is...

The post concert ZOMG journal. I didn't get home until after midnight, and I was beyond exhausted. I had a two hour drive home, and I was completely soaked with sweat. I honestly didn't even bother to shower before going to bed, that's how tired I was.

So, here I am, awake on a fine Staurday morning, to share the sequence of events that occured last night. (It's super long, guys!)

I was worried that we wouldn't make it in time, because we didn't leave until 4:50, and the show started at 7:00. The entire ride down was hysterical. Me and my friend were so hyper and pretty much jacked.

Fortunatley, we pulled up to the venue at 6:45. No trouble finding it, didn't get lost once. That's always a good sign. :D (Thanks to you, Google Maps!)

We were directed into the venue, picked up our tickets at will call without any trouble, and made our way into the main area where we were patted down and approved for our entry. I quickly texted my parents to let them know everything was all good, and we headed into the hall. There was already a good size crowd for Every Avenue, but we made our way into the middle/side. By the time the show started, though, we were in the dead center. I hate being so short. They opened with Days of The Old, then they played A Story to Tell Your Friends, Chasing The Night, Freak Out!, Trading Heartbeats, Think Of You Later, and finished off with Where Were You? Nothing shy of amazing, I love Every Avenue.

Since we're not huge fans of The Maine, we left the crowd and decided to just hang out durring their set. Gain stamina for the last two bands. We checked out the merch tables, but didn't buy anything yet. We walked upstairs ('cause we had to pee... geez.) and poked our heads out an open window up there. I never thought cold Wisconsin air would feel so good. After we came back, I called my sister durring one of The Maine's songs, and was texting her and such. I really should be a fan of this band. They're pretty good... not to mention their drummer is really hot! (How shallow of me...?) Plus, John Ohh is such a hillarious dude. He said...

"You guys totally know, this place is haunted, right?" (It actually is...)

"Fuck yeah, dude!"

"So, if you feel your private parts being tickled, its probably a ghost or something..."

(and)

"Hey, guys... I just found out that there's a pool, 4 floors below us. And, what I'm saying is... if we all jump in unison durring this song... we can break through 4 floors and get to the pool!

...But.... I didn't bring a swimsuit on this tour... so... what I'm saying is... if we get to the pool...we can all swim naked together!!!"

Anyways, right after The Maine's set, we made it to, like, the first 5 rows, sort of off to the side. I have to say, Mayday Parade has the most awesomest stage artwork. In case you haven't seen it, they're 2 playing cards with the king of hearts, except the hearts are broken, and one of the kings is wearing sunglasses. It's so awesome. Mayday Parade opened with 3 Cheers for 5 Years, and I realized after a little bit.... Brooks cut his hair! No more super long curls, and it looks so different! Jeremy did too...but it's not a extreme because his hair wasn't that long to begin with. Then they played I'd Hate To Be You..., Miserable At Best, Jamie All Over, When I Get Home You're So Dead, and finished out with Jersey. Amazing set. It was a sold out show, so it was packed. I think you could measure my breathing room in negative units.

Then, we shifted a little bit, and we finally made it to the 3rd row, almost dead center. We had to keep fighting to hold our spot, before All Time Low had even come on. We were standing next to this guy who was so high, he thought Blink-182 was playing after All Time Low. He said he didn't even know what city he was in. But besides his hallucogenic state, we chatted for a while, and he kept us entertained. The wait for All Time Low was so long, and since my parents had set a curfew, we kept watching the time like crazy. We had no idea how we were even gonna get out of there. So, finally, when they came on, they opened with, none other than, Poppin' Champagne. It was insane. Since it was, like, our second concert ever, me and my friend were holding hands durring the first three bands so we wouldn't get seperated. We looked ridiculous, and after a while, we decided on a meeting spot after the show if we ever got seperated, because one of us would probably end up twisting our arm off. Well, we got seperated, of course, and I got the worse end of it. I hate being so weak. I got pushed out of the way by two people and I kept trying so hard to push back. I got close, but not close enough. I got so many dirty looks, too. I don't care if I'm not a concert veteran, and you may not know this about me... but I do not back down. Especially if someone pushes me out of the way. Well, anyways, it was so amazing, because I didn't think that Jack Barakat towering over me while standing on a speaker would feel so epic. And I love Gaskarth's new hair. Enough said. Continuing with the set, they played Shameless, and Jasey Rae. Halfway through Jasey Rae, me and my friend decided to get ourselves out of there. For curfew purposes, and because I don't think I could be in there any longer. We went to go buy merch, while they played Coffeshop Soundtrack, and The Party Scene. I can't remember what else they played. I ended up getting the Every Avenue shirt that I wanted, (it's red with a lightning bolt on it) and a copy of The Morning Light's cd. (They weren't playing, but they followed the tour to promote their band. I had already heard of them, but I didn't have their latest cd. It's amazing, by the way) I got my friend (a different friend who gave me money to get her something) a The Morning Light shirt, then headed over the the other merch table and got a copy of A Lesson In Romantics for her as well.

We finally made it outside of the venue, and were waiting for my parents, when a much too familiar guy in tight pants and covered in tatoos walks past us with a suitcase and gets on one of the busses right in front of us. It didn't click until after he was gone, that Brooks, yes, Brooks, had just walked past us. I was totally bummed out that I didn't say anything. (But wait... it gets better!)
We made our way out by the street to wait, but we, of course, had to walk by the busses to get there. (Nope, nothing yet...). So, as were standing there, I see, none other than, Brooks step off the bus about 20 feet behind us. And I start freaking out. I keep telling my friend that Brooks is right behind us, and that we should go talk to him. But she honestly wouldn't budge, and said she was too scared. Which is rare, because normally, according to our personalities, we would have switched roles. So, I'm literally dragging her by her hoodie across the parking lot, but I finally give up and say,
"Fine. I'm going to go talk to them. It's your loss"

So, I walk over and kindly ask Brooks if he'd sign the CD. He had to go into the bus to get a marker, so as this is happening, I'm trying to peel the plastic off/tell my friend to get the heck over here! It was really awkward at first because we couldn't get the cd open, but he signed it, and also signed my friend's shirt. We also kinda had a little 2 minute conversation. It ruled. He was so nice, and he appologized for looking like a dumbass by smoking in front of us. My friend pretty much said nothing, but I am so freaking proud of myself. I totally sounded calm, cool, and collect, and the complete opposite of fan girl. I asked him why he cut his hair, and he said something about how they were taking new promos for the new album, and he just decided to do it now. He also said how he appreciated that we bought the cd instead of downloading it.

And, at this moment in time, (the adored... ZOMG) Joshua Randall walks by, with a burger in his hand, and says, "Hamburguesa!" Then gets on the bus. Totally followed by a stupid question from me,

"Do you think you could get him to come out and say hi?"

*Sigh* So embarrassing, but he did say no in the nicest way possible. Then he actually asked if we were going to hang out for a little bit longer, because then everyone else would be there, but I had to give the most embarrassing response:

"No, my parents will be here soon"

So with that, we said thanks and left, and then went home. I don't have photographic proof, but you're gonna have to believe me, it really happened.

So, that's it. I think I need to drink 5,000 gallons of water, because I'm ready to pee myself for the next eternity. Such an exciting night, but I am overly exhausted. My mom didn't understand why my arms were so sore. My dad did though, and he just laughed at me.

So as part of the "deal" of my parent taking me, I have a but-load of chores to do today, and then I have to go to a Symphony concert tonight. Hopefully I'll be on later tonight.

(omfg it was amazing!)

 yours truly,

Claire. Aka musiciscool

and ps- people had cameras. But I'm glad I didn't bring one. It's better to enjoy the music then waste your time taking pictures that probably wont come out anyways.

Concert Time: T-1 Days!

In less than 24 hours, I will be screaming like the pathetic fan girl I am, and singing just about every word to all of Every Avenue, Mayday Parade, and All Time Low's songs. (I am ashamed to admit I've never really listened to The Maine before this concert)

Here's how it's all gonna go down:

First of all, I am going to this concert for the enjoyment of music. The venue has a strict camera rule, and they search you. My dad, being the overobsessive planner he is went to the venue's website and looked at all the rules, and the one on cameras said:

Do not bring in any cameras or recording devices of any kind. Leave them in the car.

Which pretty much means, don't even try.

Cameraphones are allowed, but I'll only use that if I just happen to accidentally bump into Joshua Randall or Alex Garcia outside the venue as I'm leaving. (Gaskarth too... but I would find it way awesomer to meet the first 2. I've actually already met Josh, sort of, very briefly and awkwardly at an acoustic set/signing at Warped, and it was really me standing around with a bunch of other people with a poster in my hand until he took it and signed it. No photographic proof).

Anyways, my friend is comming home with me after school, and we're gonna chill and have a few ZOMG moments before it's time to leave. My parents said that we'll leave by 5 at the latest, which makes me concerned that I will miss Every Avenue's set. It takes exactly 1 hour and 59 minutes to get to The Rave (thanks to Google Maps), without traffic. And the show starts at 7. Once I get there, it will take me a while to get to the front, or at least a fairly good spot. To anyone who's already been to this show, what was the crowd like for Every Avenue? Were a lot of people already there?

Then, I'm going to take an opportunity after Every Avenue, or after a different set to go get some merch. No backpacks or bags allowed either, so I'll have to hold on to it for the rest of the show. Which means no CDs. But my sister said that they're becomming more and more overpriced at concerts anyways. I want to get 2 shirts, hopefully. Plus, my other friend who couldn't go is giving me money to get her merch, so we'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll hold off on the merch until after the show. Again, what's the best way to do this? (Please forgive me, it's my first 'official' concert.)

Then, after the concert has ended, (and I met a bunch of dudes in the bands and got all of my merch signed- haha I wish!), my parents are taking us home, and my friend is sleeping over. And we'll probably have more ZOMG moments.

Except for one thing- my parents are setting a time for us to leave, since it is a 2 hour drive back home. I think they said 10:00, or 10:15 at the latest. How long should this concert last? (Personally, I wouldn't be devestated if I missed one or two songs from All Time Low's set. I'm actually more pumped about Mayday Parade and Every Avenue. But I still am pumped for All Time Low as well. Especially if they play Circles, as I have heard from somewhere that they do.... I will flip.a.shit.)

Well, that's it for me.

I have 3 tests tomorrow. It's going to be a long school day.

A random update!

Yay! Don't you love these posts?

So, today in the airport, while eating shitty french toast in a restaurant that smelled like pee with chairs made out of animal skins (I was CLEARLY not happy here. Minneapolis/St. Paul airport- missed my connecting flight last night, spent the night, then has to eat prior to my last flight home [oh, what a good all time low song]), I made a list of my top 10 favorite songs in no particular order of signifigance and/or how new/old they are.

Here's the list:

1. No One Understands- Bayside

2. About A Girl- The Academy Is...

3. Decode- Paramore

4. Have Gun, Will Travel- The Audition

5. The Antidote- Story of The Year

6. Boys Will Be Boys- Every Avenue

7. Currents Convulsive- Pierce The Veil

8. Creatures- Settings

9. When I Get Home, You're So Dead- Mayday Parade

10. Helena- My Chemical Romance

I can't stop listening to them. <3

aaaannnnddd...

I just got back from the lovely Target and I FINALLY HAVE COPIES OF FAST TIMES AT BARRINGTON HIGH AND THE GLASS PASSENGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^it's about time!!

The other items:

I read in USA Today this morning about Connie Talbot, a 7 year old British pop sensation that has already had her debut album go platinum in 2 countries and double platinum in another. Wowzers!

Although I'm not really a fan of super young pop sensations, (because your vocal chords don't stop developing until you're 35, and I'd hate to see yet another waste of what could be a beautiful voice) or pop sensations in general, *coughmileycyruscough*, I really have to check this girl out. It said in this article that her parents still treat her like a normal kid, and that they're not going to force her to continue with music, if she suddenly decides this isn't what she wants to do.

I mean, it says that even Simon was impressed, and that her album consists of all cover songs, which impresses me because it's a much better option when you are too young to write songs. That means she doesn't have some loser old man write songs for her. Anyways, I will give her cd a listen and follow up with a post on my thoughts.

Lastly,

Tomorrow brings 3 things. Day #1 of the WKCE (standardized testing, ughhh.), my dad's (holyfuckingshit) 56th birthday (wowzers he's pretty old!), and most importantly, THE ELECTION!

Dad's present was taken care of. Cross that off the list!

WKCE wise: I'm going to bed at 10:00 tonight. That's in one hour and 1 minute. Which also means if I maintain this, I will get my temps sooner! (and my mom told me that she will probably end up taking me to the ATL concert after all!!!)

And, the election is tomorrow. I really regret not becomming informed and paying attention, and not really being very educated. I am only 15, but I feel bad, as that's not an excuse to ignore everything that's been happening for the past year. But to sum up my family's political views, my dad asked for Obama for his birthday, and my sister has an Obama shirt. We also live close to the Canadian border in case the result doesn't favor their opinion. (Just kidding! ;D). I don't want to get people started on comment rants through my post. Please.

Focus on the other items, I spent more energy thinking about those that the last one.

AND THE TWILIGHT SOUNDTRACK COMES OUT TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!

^^my friend is getting it, (she's a twilight obsessive), and she's making me my own personalized copy, haha.  She's not even going to let my borrow it for less than 24 hours to put it on my ipod.

(Oh, and I forgot to mention:
i.fucking.loved.the.decode.video)
